Following on from his outdoor gig at AECC last night, Sir Rod Stewart has announced a return to Aberdeen later this year as part of his winter arena tour. Rod will play to crowds at the North-East’s brand new events venue P&J Live on Saturday 7 December 2019.
Rod has been on the road since May selling-out football stadiums, outdoor venues and arenas across the UK for Rod Stewart Live in Concert.
And following last night’s sold-out show at Aberdeen AECC outdoor arena, it is announced today Rod will be back in the granite city with his winter arena tour as one of the very first artists to play at the brand new P&J Live Aberdeen.
Rod was due to play in Aberdeen last month, but adverse weather conditions saw the concert postponed until last night and Rod had so much fun he’s coming back again
Announcing his return to Aberdeen, Rod said: “Last night was a phenomenal sell-out show which I’m so glad we could make happen, so I’m delighted to tell you all that I’m coming back. You know I love performing in Scotland, so as well as my three shows down the road in Glasgow I’m coming to Aberdeen again too. It will be great to see you all again so get ready to party with me this December.”
With his signature voice, style and songwriting, Rod Stewart has transcended all genres of popular music, from rock, folk, soul, R&B, and even the American standards; making him one of the few stars to enjoy chart-topping albums throughout every decade of his career.
Rod’s 2019 shows are filled with both classics and new hits in his dazzling signature style. As one of the best-selling artists in the history of recorded music, with more than 200 million records sold worldwide, his performance includes show stopping classics from his glittering career as well as his most recent album Blood Red Roses - a deeply personal 13-track collection of originals and three covers.
Rod has earned countless of the industry’s highest awards, among them, two inductions into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the ASCAP Founders Award for songwriting, New York Times bestselling author, Grammy™ Living Legend, and in 2016 he officially became ‘Sir Rod Stewart’ after being knighted by Prince William at Buckingham Palace for his services to music and charity.
Louise Stewart, head of entertainment at P&J Live said: “Rod was so well received at the AECC last night, putting on a great show for all! It’s great to have Rod performing with us, and we can’t wait to welcome him to our new venue later in the year!”
