A north-east children’s hospital charity has partnered with local Rotary Clubs to give members of the public a chance to win an Audi A1 sports car.
The ARCHIE Foundation is to be the main beneficiary of the annual raffle, which launched today (Wednesday) at the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital (RACH).
The raffle is supported by 22 Rotary Clubs across the north-east and will run throughout the year, with the winning ticket drawn at the Bon Accord centre on Christmas Eve.
Alan Pirie, chairman of the Rotary Club Organising Committee, said: “The 22 Rotary Clubs involved in the Annual Car raffle are delighted to be back working with The ARCHIE Foundation.
“In the year 2000 the local Rotary Clubs were looking at ways of working together and it was then that they hit on the idea to raise funds to help the building of the new Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.
“We look forward to working with Cassie and her team and sincerely hope that when the winning ticket is picked on Christmas Eve that the whole project will have been an outstanding success and raised lots of money for The ARCHIE Foundation.”
Cassie Thompson, director of fundraising at The ARCHIE Foundation, said: “We are thrilled to be involved in this year’s raffle and we are incredibly grateful to the members of all the Rotary Clubs involved for their support.
“The Rotary Clubs played an important role in our original fundraising appeal almost two decades ago and we are delighted to be back working with them once again.
“The money raised from this raffle will allow us to continue supporting sick children and their families by providing advanced medical equipment, specialist staff training, and emergency grants to support families in their time of need.
Tickets for the raffle cost £1 and are available from Rotary Clubs across the north-east or from The ARCHIE Foundation on 01224 559559.
