Scarf has been named a finalist in the Net Zero Business category at the Dundee & Angus Chamber Champion Awards 2026, recognising the organisation's role in helping households reduce energy costs while supporting Scotland's transition to net zero.
The charity and social enterprise, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, supports households across Scotland through free and impartial energy advice, emergency fuel support, and funded energy efficiency improvements.
Over the past year, Scarf facilitated £12 million of investment in energy efficiency improvements, enabling 1,762 fully funded measures such as solar PV, heat pumps and insulation to be installed in homes across Scotland. These improvements are projected to deliver more than £1 million in annual household bill savings while reducing carbon emissions by over 3,200 tonnes each year.
Alongside this retrofit work, Scarf also operates a Home Energy Advice Team, providing free and impartial energy advice, income maximisation support and practical guidance to thousands of households each year.
David Mackay, Co-CEO of Scarf, said:
"Being named a finalist is fantastic recognition of the impact our team and partners are delivering across Scotland every day. We know that tackling fuel poverty and tackling climate change are closely linked. By helping people improve the energy efficiency of their homes and reduce their energy costs, we're creating lasting benefits for households, communities and the environment.
We're proud to see this work recognised and would like to thank our staff, partners, funders and the thousands of households who trust us to support them."
As part of the awards process, finalists will take part in a public voting stage and present to the judging panel over the summer. Winners will be announced at the Chamber Champion Awards Lunch on 9 September 2026 at Apex City Quay Hotel, Dundee.
