Spring is stirring, the world is bursting with new life and the stage is perfectly set for an exciting showcase of new talent and new work in Aberdeen next month.

Aspiring artists, writers, musicians and comedians were invited earlier this year to submit a new piece of work, inspired by Spring awakening, for a Scratch Night, organised by Aberdeen Performing Arts.

A selection of the very best submissions will be performed at the Lemon Tree on Wednesday, April 3.

Aberdeen Performing Arts chief executive, Jane Spiers said: “Right at the heart of our work at Aberdeen Performing Arts is developing, supporting and celebrating new talent in the North East. Our Scratch Nights encompass all of that, and there’s always a great energy as so many creative people come together to present their work and get some really valuable feedback.

“This is an opportunity to see a range of work right at its very beginning, and perhaps even have the chance to shape and contribute to the final version!”
