Acting on behalf of FWM Investments, Shepherd Chartered Surveyors has secured the sale of optician Duncan & Todd’s head office building in Aberdeen as an investment to a private property company for £1.75m, representing a yield of 7.5%.

Providing a total of 15,400 sq ft of accommodation, comprising of 5,400 sq ft office space and a 10,000 sq ft workshop, as well as a secure concrete yard of 7,150 sq ft, the property is located at Unit 4 Kirkhill Commercial Park, Aberdeen.

Chris Grinyer, Managing Partner at Shepherd, said: “The property is let to Duncan & Todd, which occupies the offices as its head office, while the workshop accommodates its manufacturing services which supplies both its own branch network, as well as other opticians.

The unit was comprehensively refurbished prior to entry.

“We have experienced good levels of interest in investment property from both the domestic market as well as foreign funds. This sale demonstrates a continuation of confidence from investors in the Aberdeen property sector.”

The deal represents the second investment sale Shepherd has completed on behalf of FWM in the last 12 months. The purchaser was represented by AMRO Commercial.
