Square Peg Consulting is hosting an online Q&A event with councillor Alison Evison, president of the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities (COSLA).
The event will take place over Zoom on Monday, January 31 at 6.30pm.
The event will be an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the role of local government, how policy decisions are made locally and how to get involved in influencing the work that goes on.
Square Peg Consulting owner, Mark McDonald, who is hosting the event said: “Local elections will take place across Scotland in May. Scotland’s local authorities are responsible for over £19bn of expenditure and in many areas are the biggest employer, delivering services from education and social care to housing, economic development, strategic planning, licensing and many others.
"Yet when it comes to policy influencing, very little attention is directed towards local government in spite of its crucial role.
"The role of Local Government has been brought into sharp focus by the pandemic, and this event provides an opportunity to hear directly from a leading councillor.”
