Are you ready to conquer your maths exam fears and achieve excellence in Higher or National 5 Maths and Computing Science? St Margaret’s warmly invites pupils in the North East to join them from 1st – 4th April 2024 for their Easter holiday revision sessions designed to help elevate grades.

Open to girls studying maths or computing science at National 5 or Higher at any secondary school (or college) in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire, join their specially tailored revision sessions held in a supportive and empowering learning environment at St Margaret’s School for Girls.

St Margaret’s specialises in girls’ education and believe that a single- sex education offers girls the space in which their identity can blossom, a space which is free from stereotype, full of challenge and rich with opportunity and care. It is in this sort of environment that girls can develop the self-esteem and confidence which will enable them to fulfil their potential and make a positive impact on the world.

Maths sessions will be led by their Head of Mathematics, Mrs Susan MacFadyen. With more than two decades of teaching experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the classroom. She understands the nuances of both the National 5 and Higher maths courses, ensuring students receive expert guidance. Embracing the future of education, Mrs MacFadyen is at the forefront of integrating technology into the learning experience. She has actively contributed to the development of resources, fostering a fun, modern and engaging educational environment.

Computing Science sessions will be led by our Head of Computing Science and ICT, Lucinda Arthur. Mrs Arthur has over 14 years of experience teaching computing science. She holds an MSc Hons in E-commerce Technology and a BSc Hons in Computing Science. She has also developed teaching materials for all exam levels. Additionally, she has extensive experience teaching various programming languages, including Python, Java, and, as well as database management using MySQL and Microsoft Access.
