North East Scotland College is offering an exciting new course ideal for anyone who would like to take a closer look at opportunities within the social care sector.
The fully-funded six week programme, Introduction to a Career in Social Care, is delivered entirely online. Participants set their own pace working through all the learning materials with regular one-to-one support provided by a College tutor.
Brian Dunn, head of sector for care, education and social sciences said: “The social care sector is currently experiencing huge growth and there is a real shortage of individuals to fill crucial roles across all areas.
“This course allows you to get the grounding you need to enter employment or as a pathway to further studies in social care. To apply, all you need is a genuine interest and passion for making a difference to someone’s life. This course could be your first steps to working and progressing in a social care sector that is opening up new and exciting career opportunities.
“This career path is immensely rewarding and I think there will be a lot of take-up. I’m sure it will attract those looking to build upon their own experience – those who care for family members for example – plus individuals looking for a change of career direction.”
The course is flexible and requires approximately 60 hours of study to gain the SCQF National 5 qualification. Once completed a discussion will take place with our experienced Care staff to look at future work or study options.
