Aquaculture UK brings together the people, companies and technologies driving the future of aquaculture, showcasing innovative technologies that increasingly enable long-term and lower-impact monitoring, with increased reliability and practicality of these deployed systems more important than ever.

At Aquaculture UK (16-17 June, Glasgow), Subsea Commercial Services (SCS) will be exhibiting applied underwater systems designed to support exactly those kinds of deployments. Visitors can find the SCS team on Stand H45 at the Scottish Event Campus.

A key focus at this year’s event will be the eDNA Rapid Sampler. The Rapid Sampler is a compact, deployable solution for aquatic environmental DNA sampling in the field. Designed for teams that need reliable eDNA collection without fixed infrastructure, it captures genetic material shed by aquatic organisms into the water column – enabling biodiversity assessment and species detection without netting, capture, or direct observation.

Alongside the eDNA system, SCS will be presenting a range of field-proven subsea technologies currently in use across aquaculture, environmental monitoring, ocean science and offshore energy. These include:

X3 ROV

A compact platform for inspection, survey, and intervention tasks in confined ingress and demanding onshore, nearshore or offshore environments

Underwater cameras, lights and lasers

Advanced IP cameras and lights for inspection, monitoring and observation

Marine asset tracking and data relay solutions

Surface and subsea solutions for monitoring, tracking, and real-time data transmission globally

All systems are designed with deployment practicality, reliability, and long-term operation in mind, reflecting SCS’s focus on equipment that performs consistently in harsh subsea conditions.

“As monitoring programmes move toward longer-term and lower-intervention deployments, the practical constraints start to matter more,” said Callum Magee, Managing Director of Subsea Commercial Services. “Systems like the eDNA Rapid Sampler are designed to support repeatable accurate sampling in remote locations where supporting infrastructure is limited, while reducing operational overheads that often limit long-term repeat data collection. Aquaculture UK gives us the opportunity to speak directly with teams dealing with those challenges.”

Aquaculture UK is free-to-attend and is one of the key global forums for the aquaculture industry, with more than 250 exhibitors from over 25 countries. Attendees interested in how monitoring systems are being deployed in real-world conditions are invited to visit Stand H45 to speak with the SCS team about current projects, deployment challenges, and operational requirements.
