National Apprenticeship week runs from February 7-11 and Raptek have spoken about the three apprentices who work with them at their facility in Inverurie.

Angus McWilliam and Kevin Thom joined Raptek under the apprenticeship scheme in 2018 and are now in their final year. Ross Lawrence is the newest apprentice having joined Raptek in 2020.

They are all studying SVQ (SCQF Level 5) Performing Engineering Operations – Mechanical Maintenance at NESCOL on a day release format at the NESCOL Fraserburgh Campus.

As well as attending Fraserburgh College the three Raptek team members carry out a wide range of diverse duties ranging from diesel engine maintenance and rebuilds, mechanical fault finding, manufacturing and modification, recertification, hydraulics, pressure testing and research and development projects.

Angus, Kevin and Ross have become key members within the Raptek team and they certainly have created a whole new dimension to the workforce, while introducing a positive long-term development of in-house skills. Not only are they excellent workers, the three of them have become firm friends as well and are affectionately known as the ‘Three Musketeers’.

Raptek is committed to supporting and nurturing their journey towards a strong career and delivering client-focus service. David Gray, general manager at Raptek sums it up as he says: “ We have three stars of the future in our team and one day they will be conquering the world”.

You can follow the apprentices’, and Raptek’s, journey via their social media – LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram – or contact them via the website: www.raptk.com
