This weekend, Marius Coste, facilities management professional for Elior UK, took superhero fundraising to the next level during his Miles of Smiles challenge — running through Glasgow dressed as Superman, joined by none other than Spider-Man!

Their mission? To visit The Nook, Scotland’s first walk-in mental health hub by SAMH, launched on 23 October, and shine a spotlight on the importance of mental health support.

Running, cycling, and walking through the city in costume might sound fun — and it was! — but behind the capes lies a serious message: your support makes a tangible difference.

Why it matters:

  • The Nook offers a safe, welcoming space for anyone in need of support, conversation, or hope.
  • Seeing firsthand how community support, corporate partnerships, and individual fundraising come together to create change is truly inspiring.

Miles of Smiles Challenge Highlights (since June 2025):

  • 1,404 km covered (cycled, ran, walked)
  • £1,475 raised for SAMH (+ £7,000 in 2021)
  • £932 raised for Clan Cancer Support
  • 122 cold showers & 30 cold dips
