Leading Scottish telecoms firm Exchange Communications has commenced delivery of a full communications overhaul for a leading technical textiles specialist as part of major expansion plans.
Exchange Communications was appointed by Forfar-based Don & Low to install a brand-new system allowing fully integrated communications and the ability to work remotely for its staff.
The improved technology will transform the way Don & Low conducts business by offering a seamless engagement experience for both customers and employees.
Regardless of their locations, devices, or applications, users now count on an end-to-end solution, while increased efficiency has been realised through the installation of a single system.
Established in 1792, Don & Low is an internationally renowned manufacturer of woven and nonwoven polyolefin textiles, and part of the Greece-based Thrace Group which has 20 companies worldwide.
Earlier this year, Don & Low expanded the footprint of its nonwovens division in Forfar with a new factory and further investment in new production facilities, facilitating a secondary processing centre of excellence.
The additional building is expected to enhance the company’s operational capability, allowing it to develop its global customer base while entering new markets.
In expanding its presence, Don & Low sought a cutting-edge communications infrastructure in line with its ambition of meeting the increasing demands of the nonwovens industry – and Exchange provided the ideal fit.
Tom Sime, MD of Exchange Communications, said: “We are proud to be partnering with Don & Low at this key phase in its expansion, enabling seamless connectivity and realising invaluable functionality.
“The company has invested significantly in its nonwovens site and it sought a leading communications infrastructure to match its heightened ambitions.
“We believe that a project of this scope really allows us to demonstrate the power of effective telecommunications on business enterprise.
“We were careful to work sympathetically around Don & Low’s existing operations as part of a highly coordinated approach, while reducing disruption as much as possible.
“With that in mind, detailed planning and preparation was put in by our teams in full consultation with the client.
“We now look forward to seeing Don & Low realise the full benefits of the system.”
Gary Wilson, Network Administrator at Don & Low, said: “As communication is so important to our business, we had concerns regarding the migration to an IP-based telephone system. Due to careful planning, Exchange Communications delivered our new system to our requirements and with minimal disruption. We feel we made the correct decision choosing our partner for this project.”
Exchange Communications was established in 1990 and has grown over 28 years to become one of the most successful and largest independent telecommunications companies in the UK.
