Aberdeen Inspired has invited companies to tender to provide waste management services in Aberdeen city centre.
The initiative is part of the business organisation’s ambition to help improve and bring about positive change in the way in which waste is managed.
The tender is open to waste management companies which can provide recycling and residual waste services, including collection and treatment of dry recycling and a residual waste service.
Food waste services are also required, including the supply collection and treatment of appropriate containers that meet the requirements of Waste Scotland Regulations.
Aberdeen Inspired, which represents more than 700 city centre businesses, intends that the new service will have environmental and financial benefits.
It aims to increase recycling and reduce waste to landfill, limit the impact on the street scene and environment, provide reliable and regular collections, and enable Customers to reduce expenditure on waste management services.
Geoff Cooper, city centre manager said: “Waste management and recycling services are crucial to businesses in the city centre and we want to hear from companies who can offer an effective and competitive service.
“We often get feedback regarding trade waste bins in the city centre and I’m confident our local business organisations will support us in delivering this new initiative, to help us continue to create a more attractive and welcoming city centre.”
The deadline for tender submissions is midday on Wednesday, February 14.
