Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce is hosting a rail roundtable event discussing the latest developments and the future of rail in the North-east.

If your organisation has an interest in transport connectivity in, to and from this region then you probably won’t want to miss this chance to ensure you're up-to-date and make your views known.

The Chamber has convened representatives from the sector including Nestrans, Network Rail, Scotrail, LNER, Caledonian Sleeper, the Campaign for North East Rail and Transport Scotland, who will cover recent enhancements, work in progress, update on future plans and discuss gaps in rail service provision.

Confirmed speakers so far, with more expected, include:

  • Paul Finch - Interim Director - Nestrans
  • Matthew Spence – Strategy & Investment Director – Network Rail
  • Ed Turner – Senior Public Affairs Manager – LNER
  • Scott Prentice – Strategy & Planning Director – ScotRail

There will here will be a panel debate and Q&A to conclude.

The outputs from the session will help inform AGCC’s engagement with political parties ahead of next year’s Holyrood election and the content of its Manifesto.

The event runs from 11.30am-2.15pm on Friday, June 13, at The Hub, Exploration Drive, Bridge of Don AB23 8GX.

Free parking is available and various bus services run nearby - as there's not a handy railway station (yet?!).

Timings are as follows:

  • 11.30am-12 noon - Buffet lunch, networking and chance to view the CNER short film
  • 12 noon-1.20pm -  Presentations
  • 1.20pm-2.15pm -  Discussion/Q&A
