The Oil & Gas Technology Centre will launch its first ‘Call for Ideas’ on May 1 2017, inviting the submission of innovative technology concepts to transform the way that offshore hydrocarbon wells are plugged and abandoned. The Calls for Ideas process is part of the Oil & Gas Technology Centre’s Open Innovation Programme.
£1 million project funding
As part of our wider funding programme, The OGTC is hoping to invest c.£1 million to fund a portfolio of projects that result from the call, with successful organisations receiving professional guidance, funding, and support to develop their idea towards the next stage of development.
The process will be live on their website from May 1 to June 11 and submissions will be evaluated against a range of criteria including value creation, sound scientific principles, time, cost and risk reduction.

The OGTC would appreciate support to raise awareness of the programme amongst partners and stakeholders. The centre is keen to attract concepts from outside the oil and gas sector and identify solutions from other industries.
