Excitement continues to build for the Tour of Britain, which will begin in Aberdeen this weekend.

Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire will host the Tour of Britain Grand Départ for the first time ever on Sunday, September 4.

Stage One will begin on Union Street in the heart of the city centre and will follow an entirely new route including the first-ever opening day summit finish in modern race history. The Old Military Road climb from Auchallater to Glenshee Ski Centre measures 9.1 kilometres long, with the final five kilometres averaging a gradient of 4.8%.

  • Stage one Sunday 4 September Aberdeen to Glenshee Ski Centre
  • Stage two Monday 5 September Hawick to Duns
  • Stage three Tuesday 6 September Durham to Sunderland
  • Stage four Wednesday 7 September Redcar to Duncombe Park, Helmsley
  • Stage five Thursday 8 September West Bridgford to Mansfield
  • Stage six Friday 9 September Tewkesbury to Gloucester
  • Stage seven Saturday 10 September West Bay to Ferndown
  • Stage eight Sunday 11 September Ryde to The Needles

An evening with the Tour of Britain

Saddle up for a wheelie good night with some British cycling legends in Aberdeen.

Join Dan Martin, Pippa York, David Millar and Ned Boulting for drinks, canapes and a Q+A at Aberdeen Art Gallery on Friday 2nd September.

Ride the finishes

On the Tour of Britain Cross the Finish Experience, ride the final 25-50 kilometres of the day’s course and cross under the official finish line before the waiting crowds.

Take photos on the winner’s podium and finish your day in the Finish Hospitality Area to watch the stage finish live. Your host is Grand Tour stage winner Dan Martin.
