Over 90 countries around the world have been hit with new tariffs by US president Donald Trump just hours before the deadline to negotiate a deal.
The fresh tariffs - which will come into force in seven days - apply to 68 countries in addition to the European Union.
Among the changes of note, Trump raised tariffs on Canada to 35%, accusing its neighbour of being "uncooperative and retaliatory", The Times reports.
The UK has the lowest tariff rate - 10% - while Japan, South Korea and Israel are at 15%.
Nations on the receiving end of the highest tariffs include Switzerland, 39%, Laos and Myanmar, 40%, and Syria, 41%.
Brazil faces an overall tariff rate of 50%.
While China is still in the midst of negotiations, Mexico, the BBC reports, faces various tariffs including 25% on cars and 50% on materials such as steel, aluminium and copper - all of which kick in after 90 days.
Australia has been omitted from the latest round of tariffs.
A US government official told Reuters some trade deals had been struck but were yet to be formally announced.
