The Trades Widows Fund Charity proudly announced yesterday that it has now donated an outstanding £1.7million to charitable causes, marking a significant milestone in its mission to support communities across the region.
With this milestone, the Trades Widows Fund Charity has now extended its support to 119 charities and community groups.
“This achievement reflects the commitment of charities and community groups across Aberdeen and the strength of our community,” said Seonaidh Baker, public relations and development manager for the Trades Widows Fund Charity. “We are honoured to continue our tradition of giving, especially at Christmas, when the need for compassion and support is felt most deeply.”

At a special Christmas gathering held at Trinity Hall, representatives from 40 of the 70 charities benefitting from the latest round of funding joined together to celebrate the impact of this support. The event highlighted the enduring spirit of generosity and collaboration that defines the charity’s work, with stories shared of how these funds are helping to create brighter futures and provide hope where it is needed most.
Paul O’Connor MBE, manager at Inchgarth Community Centre and chair of ACVO TSI shared; “Inchgarth Community Centre is extremely grateful for the generous donation from the Trades Widows Fund Charity, which will enable the delivery of a significant programme of activities for adults requiring additional support.
"This funding will ensure that 100 people with additional support needs (ASN) can access meaningful social opportunities throughout 2026, helping to tackle social isolation and enhance wellbeing for one of society’s most deserving groups. This support truly feels like Santa arriving early for Inchgarth”
