AGCC member company Aberdeen International Associates is leading a trade mission to Colombia in the week of Monday, January 23 and is now accepting registrations from organisations that are interested in visiting the market to learn about current/future projects, and engage with prospective partners/clients via a series of group sessions and site visits.
The visit will cover Bogota, Barranquilla and Cartagena with an itinerary including meetings with government representatives, project developers, contractors, key business support organisations, professional service firms and local companies as well as visits to current projects and local infrastructure e.g. Ports based around the objectives of the mission group.
This mission will be suited to representatives from all aspects of the renewable energy sector and particularly organisations involved with Hydrogen, Wind and Solar - supply chain, training and education organisations, consulting firms and project developers/investors.
AIA Managing Director Neil McIntosh explained:
‘Colombia is rapidly accelerating the adoption of non-conventional renewable energy technologies and commissioning new projects that present significant opportunities for ‘UK PLC’ to support the market and wider region in its energy transition.
This mission is designed to enable organisations from the UK to engage with key stakeholders in three Colombian cities, and learn about opportunities to support/develop projects and local partnerships.
During the recent COP27 summit both Colombia and the UK signed up to a multilateral group of nine nations that will collaborate on the development of Offshore Wind, coordinated by the Global Wind Energy Council.
Colombia was also recognised in a recent report by BloombergNEF as the fourth most attractive country for FDI in relation to Renewable Energy so there are definitely exciting times/projects/opportunities ahead.
We are delighted to have the support of the British Embassy and ProColombia with this initiative that can help build on the strong relationships that have already been established between the UK and Colombia in recent years’.
The recruitment window will be open until Thursday 22nd December – please contact Neil McIntosh for further details and an application form via Neil@aiascot.co.uk
Copies of the National Roadmaps for both Offshore Wind and Hydrogen can be made available upon request.
