Working Health Services Scotland within Grampian provides free, confidential advice and health support to the self-employed and individuals employed by companies with less than 250 employees.

The government funded initiative aims to provide a free and confidential service to assist you to remain at work or give advice to facilitate a return to work following a period of absence.

Working Health Services Grampian Case Manager, Lyndsay Hay said: “This service offers a wide range of clinical and managerial skills to support employees and managers in achieving a healthy, productive and effective workplace.

“The aim of this free and confidential service is to assist you to remain at work or give advice to facilitate a return to work following a period of absence.

“If you have a health problem affecting you through the working day, such as pain and discomfort; or stress and anxiety; Working Health Services Scotland Grampian can provide rapid access to a range of local specialist health professionals.

“These include case management, in-work support and advice, and return to work advice.”

If you have a health problem affecting you throughout the working day, such as pain and discomfort or stress and anxiety the service can offer the following:

  • Physiotherapy - assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal pain and discomfort – up to four free sessions
  • Counselling - provision of talking therapy in a safe, confidential environment to address emotional well-being. – up to six free sessions
  • Podiatry – assessment and treatment – up to four free sessions

To be eligible individuals must:

  • Either live or work in Grampian
  • must be self-employed or work for a small business of less than 250 staff
  • Can either be at work with a health condition affecting your job or absent from work for any length of time
