Global multi-disciplined technology and engineering company, XL Group, has strengthened its management team to support further expansion, following a period of continued growth.

The Aberdeen head-quartered firm has created five new business development roles and appointed a new operations director.

Mike Fergusson, currently business operations director, has been working alongside chief executive, Colin Laird, to deliver the group’s growth and acquisition strategies whilst managing the day to day finances, commercials and operations. He will now move into a new role as UK sales director, responsible for leading the business development team across the group, increasing lead generation and maintaining standards of excellence with current customers.

Prior to joining XL Group, Mike was director of commercial banking, at RBS for Aberdeen and North East. He brings over 25 years of commercial and sales expertise to this new role.

Richard Dodunski joins as group operations director. He will oversee all group divisions, ensuring maximum integration, realisation and delivery of multiple discipline opportunities.

He joins from one of the world’s largest shipowners, Teekay, where he was asset manager, Richard brings over 20 years’ of experience in construction and engineering, with a proven track record in leading multi discipline teams across, energy, utilities, FMCG and manufacturing industries.

XL Group chief executive, Colin Laird, said: “The new appointments come at a very exciting time for XL Group. The group’s integrated engineering offering is spread across eight divisions employing a hundred members of staff working across five global locations.

Colin added: “The group has ambitious plans for the future, including some exciting research and development work. The creation of the new roles allows for the group to continue to expand at a rapid rate whilst maintaining the same high-quality standard of service that our customers are used to.”

The global multi-discipline technology and engineering group is on track to achieve a turnover of £22 million by the end of 2019.
