Good report writing is an art – one which can be perfected with the help of this course, that equips delegates with writing skills which can be applied to a wide range of situations.

The aim is to help create short, sharp, concise written documents for a particular purpose and audience by analysing a situation or problem, as well as developing options, before presenting them in written form.

A report will often contain recommendations for future action based on facts or circumstances therefore the paper needs to be clear and well-structured in order to lead to successful outcomes.

What will you learn?

  • Understand why you are creating your report
  • Identify who you will submit the report to
  • Know what you want to include in the content
  • How and when it must be submitted
  • Reporting styles – words and graphics
  • Form of written word and some basic etiquette

Who is it for?

This course is ideal for managerial, professional and technical employees whose job involves report writing for internal and external consumption, whether presenting a report to a client, management, colleague, or supplier this will help develop report content and style.

Requirements for the style and actual content of a report will vary between organisations and departments and it may also depend on the subject being discussed. Therefore, it is worth finding out if there are any specific guidelines for your organisation before you come along and join us.

This course lasts for one day and is delivered at the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce Training Hub by our approved expert trainers.
