Around 80,000 people in Scotland have quit their jobs in the past year because they were not allowed to work from home, a survey from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development has said.

The research pointed out a "growing tension" between employers and employees hybrid working arrangements.

The Times reports the CIPD research showed 49% of Scots felt under pressure to spend more time in the office.

It comes as many high-profile businesses, including Amazon and JP Morgan, return to required five-day-a-week workplace attendance for full time staff.

Other businesses set a minimum number of days per week or month that employees must attend in person.

The research showed 92% of respondents offered flexible working in some capacity.
