We Too!, an Aberdeen charity that empowers families of children with disabilities, partnered with Codona’s Amusement Park for an exclusive 'Egg-stravaganza' evening on April 7.

This sensory-friendly event was the third in the 'Dream Night' series, with over 130 parents, carers, and children, enjoying closed-door access to park rides, activities, and an adapted Easter egg hunt. The series, including past events last summer and Halloween, has raised over £6,000 for We Too!

The ongoing partnership between We Too! and Codona’s includes a recently announced purpose built sensory space within the venue, with work commencing last December, ahead of an expected summer opening.

"We were so thrilled with the turnout for our latest ‘Dream Night’ event," said Phionna McInnes, Chief Executive at We Too. "It was wonderful to see so many families come together to enjoy a fun and inclusive evening. We're most grateful to Codona's Amusement Park for partnering with us on this event, to all our volunteers for supporting us and of course, customers for attending.

“I would like to add that it is wonderful to see the local community coming together to support We Too! and the families they serve. Codona's Amusement Park, and their staff, deserve special recognition for their generosity and support. I am also delighted to see the progress on the purpose-built sensory area within the park, the investment is testament to Codona’s commitment to all families”.

Gillian Gallan, General Manager of Codona’s added, “Egg-Stravaganza Night has proved a popular addition to the Dream Night series, and we’re thrilled with the feedback it has received from the guests who attended. The evening not only provided guests the opportunity to experience the outdoor attractions and an adapted Egg Hunt, it also provided fundraising for We Too! to continue their ongoing work.

We have been very privileged to work with the team from We Too! since the start of their journey, and to be able to continue our work together on a sensory space in the venue, is a very exciting project.”

Codona's closed the park to general access for the evening, covering all the incurred costs of holding the event. The money raised from the latest Dream Night will go towards supporting We Too's programs and services, which include:

  • Parent/Carer Drop-in Support Hub within Aberdeen Trinity Centre
  • One-on-one support for families
  • Advocacy and support services for families navigating the education system
  • Social events and activities for children with disabilities.
