Aberdeen Harbour has appointed a new non-executive director to its Board.
Bertie Armstrong joins the Board as a non-executive director, following his work as Chief Executive Officer of the Scottish Fishermen’s Federation (SFF) and SFF Services Ltd.
Mr Armstrong retired from the SFF in 2019 after more than 14 years at the helm and was previously Queen’s Harbourmaster of the Clyde Dockyard Port.
He was a board member of the Fisheries Legacy Trust Company and a Trustee and board member of Fisheries Innovation Scotland.
Alistair Mackenzie, chairman of Aberdeen Harbour Board, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Bertie Armstrong to the Board, and he joins us at a time of significant transformation for the business. Bertie brings with him a strong network of key connections and much experience in managing multiple stakeholder interfaces. His skills and experiences will complement those already on the Board, as we push forward to the next exciting era for Aberdeen Harbour.”
Mr Armstrong said: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining the Board of Aberdeen Harbour at this time of great potential for the future. The exciting harbour expansion at Nigg Bay is timed to make the most of the opportunity presented by current activity, and of course, the essential energy transition. I’m looking forward to playing my part in an increasingly successful, sustainable strategic asset for the North-east.”
