Aberdeen RNLI in Mayday call for volunteers

Aberdeen RNLI fundraising group has made a Mayday call for new volunteers.

The group, which is tasked with raising funds to support the life-saving work at Aberdeen Lifeboat station has a very willing band of volunteers who help out at fundraising events and collections, but finding volunteers to take over the helm as chair and vice chair is proving a harder task.

Do you have experience in leading and developing teams and individuals? Are you able to delegate? Are you known for your tact and diplomacy? Do you have knowledge and networks in the local community that you are prepared to contact for the benefit of the RNLI? Then the role of branch chairperson/vice chair could be for you. This role would suit someone who is highly motivated and can motivate those around them to achieve success.

You may already have been a successful leader in your professional life or this may be an area of work you wish to develop your skills in before applying for a promotion at work. In either case we would like to hear from you.

Do you want to volunteer in your local community but prefer to be a team player rather than a team leader? If so, a member of our fundraising group maybe just the role for you.

The volunteer crews of RNLI Lifeboats freely give of their time to rescue those in trouble on the sea and rivers of Aberdeen and surrounding areas but they wouldn’t do it without the support of the fundraisers – together they save lives at sea.

You could save a life – and you don’t even need to get your feet wet.
