Aberdeen Sports Village (ASV) announces that Duncan Sinclair is retiring from his role as chief executive on 31st December 2025 after 10 years at the helm of one of Scotland’s most iconic sports facilities.
The board has confirmed that Ludwik Metelski, current director of business and governance, will step into the role of Interim chief executive from 1st January 2026.
Duncan joined ASV in 2015 and has since led the organisation through a decade marked by growth, innovation, and resilience. Under his leadership, ASV has strengthened its position as one of Scotland’s most iconic and inclusive sports facilities, supporting elite athletes and local communities alike.
“Leading Aberdeen Sports Village has been an immense privilege,” said Duncan Sinclair. “I am incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved together and confident that ASV is well positioned for continued success. The time is right to hand over the reins, and I look forward to seeing ASV flourish in its next chapter.”
Chair of the ASV board, Sheila Graham, said: “On behalf of the board, I want to thank Duncan for his years of dedicated service; his leadership has been instrumental in shaping ASV into the sector leading organisation it is today. His passion, professionalism, and vision have left a lasting legacy. We wish him all the very best for a well earned retirement.
The board will commence a formal recruitment process in early 2026, with a view to appointing a new chief executive by midyear.
ASV remains focused on delivering exceptional service to its members, partners, and communities as it embarks on this new phase of leadership.
