Local children’s charity Befriend a Child has appointed Katie Kyle as their new head of fundraising and marketing. Katie will be leading the team to generate income, enhance visibility and will be putting a three-year fundraising and marketing strategy in place for the charity. She said: "I am delighted to be joining the dedicated team at Befriend a Child. Having a passion for fundraising and marketing, I'm looking forward to bringing my experience to the role. It's an exciting time to be joining such a well-loved charity." Previously with The Archie Foundation as head of regional fundraising, Katie has over 10 years’ experience in fundraising for the voluntary sector. Katie’s expertise in community and corporate fundraising will benefit the organisation who plans to grow. “With demand for our befriending and mentoring programmes growing, never before has the support of our local community been so important. Katie’s experience will ensure we have a sustainable funding base from which to develop our programmes of work to reach more children and young people across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire," said Sarah Misra, chief executive officer of Befriend a Child Over the last 18 months the charity has been fortunate to have been supported by grants, local companies as well as individuals and groups fundraising for them. With more children and young people in need of a befriender and mentor, particularly with the challenges CV19 has brought, the charity is committed to ensuring it can support those most in need in the local community.
