Aberdeen's first and favourite tribute act The Bloody Marys, return to The Lemon Tree with their summer special next month.
Following the disappointment of having to cancel their popular Christmas show due to health reasons, the band are back to full strength and ready to rock the Lemon Tree once again.
The band are inviting fans to come and join them as they belt out the best of rock and pop. The Marys will of course pay tribute to the classics from Abba, the Rocky Horror Show, Queen and many more. All done in the tongue in cheek manner only Aberdeen’s transvestite trio can get away with.
Singer Ian Gray said "Cancelling our Christmas Show was such a blow, but we hope we can make up for the disappointment by treating fans to a blast of a summer show. We are back to our best and promise all the old nonsense and a good few laughs along the way. The Lemon Tree is always like a homecoming for us as the city centre is where it all
started."
The band, who consist of Ian Gray on vocals, guitarist Barry Dodds and Steve Morrison on keyboards, have been wowing crowds since their reformation in 2011.
The first time around in the nineties the Bloody Marys sold out the Capitol Theatre three times and also the Music Hall for their farewell gig. Voted Holsten Pils band of the year in 1995 they enjoy a loyal following of fans across the North-east of Scotland.
The Bloody Marys live at The Lemon Tree is on Saturday June 2, doors 8pm. Tickets cost £16.50 plus booking fee and are available from www.aberdeenperformingarts.com or phone Aberdeen Box Office on 01224 641122.
