Citymoves Dance Agency is delighted to be a part of the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, and they can’t wait to see what opportunities and great connections arise from being a part of such a brilliant network of North-east businesses.

This year Citymoves are celebrating its 35th anniversary, with a celebratory exhibition planned that will map the journey from a small Aberdeen City Council project to the established charity and agency they are today. The exhibition will display past material, photos, and videos from their extensive archive, alongside conversations conducted with key figures from Citymoves’ history.

The Citymoves team has been growing quickly recently, as they’ve been fortunate enough to receive support via GCAS and be a part of their Graduate Internship program. Receiving three funded intern positions for 6 months, all three positions were quickly filled with their two Dance Artist Interns starting in May and their Marketing Intern starting in late June. Laura, Rosie and Barbara are very welcome new additions, alongside the recent hiring of their seasonal DanceLive Manager, Lynn Shaw, who will be heading up their upcoming festival of dance in October.

DanceLive Festival is back for its annual celebration of dance in Aberdeen between October 20 and 23. Citymoves are in the process of planning a programme of captivating, inspiring and thought-provoking performances, with venues indoor, outdoor and ‘On Demand’. Workshops, classes and networking opportunities will be available throughout the festival. The launch night of DanceLive 2022 will coincide with the launch of their 35 Year Anniversary Exhibition at the Anatomy Rooms.

This year, Citymoves are running three separate fantastic Summer Camps, two of which were recently announced and are inclusive of all additional support learning needs, requirements and disabilities for both youth and adults, with the Horizons Summer Camp being completely free due to generous sponsorship. Alongside the inclusive camps, they’ve been able to add a second Dance for Parkinson’s session to their weekly timetable, courtesy of generous funding from ACVO, on the other side of the city to the other classes, allowing them to reach a much wider audience. With their current term coming to an end, there is a short Summer Timetable filling in the time between Summer Camps and the new timetable commencing on August 22 with some fantastic new classes and opportunities within!

Keep your eye out for more information regarding DanceLive, their 35 Year Anniversary and the extensive August timetable – it's a busy year for Citymoves and they’d love for you to be involved!
