Aberdeen employers are being invited to a free event designed to help them recruit and retain a more diverse workforce.
Aberdeen City Council’s ABZ Works, in partnership with the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP), is hosting an interactive session for local businesses at Aberdeen Art Gallery on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, from 10am to 12pm.
The event will explore how businesses can benefit from employing people with disabilities or health conditions—groups that remain underrepresented in the workforce. Research shows that recruiting from a wider talent pool leads to stronger teams, higher staff retention, and a positive workplace culture.
Attendees will hear from expert speakers including representatives from NHS Grampian’s Healthy Working Lives team and We Too!, an award-winning local charity and Disability Confident Leader that champions diversity and inclusion.
Alan MacDonald from DWP said: “This event is an opportunity for employers to gain practical insight into the support available locally and to understand how inclusive recruitment can bring lasting value to their business and workforce.”
Business owners, recruiters, team leaders, and HR professionals are encouraged to attend.
To register, visit Eventbrite link or contact alan.macdonald1@dwp.gov.uk for more information.
The event is free to attend, and refreshments will be provided.
