Extra date added for The Staircase at The Lemon Tree due to phenomenal demand

Aberdeen audiences are being given a second chance at snapping up tickets to attend a discussion hosted by a lawyer who stars in a popular true crime documentary on Netflix.

The Staircase is currently airing on the streaming giant to critical acclaim and tells the story of novelist Michael Peterson, who was accused of murdering his second wife Kathleen.

Kathleen was found at the bottom of a staircase in their home, and, when prosecutors said her injuries were too severe to be caused by a simple fall, her husband was charged with murder.

The series covers the various theories as to how Kathleen sustained the injuries, including the “owl theory” in which it is thought the mum-of-one was attacked by the large bird.

Peterson’s defence attorney David Rudolph, who represented him until October 2014, is expected to discuss his internal conflicts towards the case at The Lemon Tree in January 2019 in The Staircase – A Conversation with David Rudolph, along with various hypotheses as to what happened.

An initial Lemon Tree date on Sunday, January 20, 2019 has completely sold out, but an extra date of Tuesday, January 22 has now been announced, with tickets on sale from Friday, November 9.

Tickets are available from 9.30am on Friday, November 9 from www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, in person at the box office or phone 01224 641122.
