The Denis Law Legacy Trust is proud to announce the John Findlater Platform Award, a work-based award to support young people who demonstrate outstanding commitment, innovation, and impact within their own communities.
Named in honour of John Findlater, the award is designed to support those who embody the values of mentorship, leadership, and positive societal change. Through the Denis Law Legacy Trust.
This year’s Platform award, Kelsey Seivwright was selected due to her exceptional work in playing a pivotal role in supporting young people, fostering resilience, and promoting opportunities for growth and success during her time as a volunteer and coach within the Trust. Exactly what the John Findlater Award was been created to recognise and provide a platform for young people to build from.

The award will provide Kelsey with a yearlong paid contract within Denis Law legacy Trust and support her in many areas of both personal and career growth. Working alongside a team of dedicated staff Kelsey will have gain several development and partnership opportunities to contribute and lead on thanks to this award which will help give Kelsey the vital experiences she needs to help shape her future.
The event serves as a moment to reflect on the legacy of John Findlater and the ongoing efforts of the Denis Law Legacy Trust to uplift and empower young people.
Alistair Findlater, brother of the late John Findlater said: “This award in John’s name really epitomises what both my brother and I cherished, giving and supporting others chances to thrive. I look forward to working with the trust on this award over the next 3 years and I’m very excited to see Kelsey flourish within these great opportunities.”
Kelsey Seivwright,19, said: “I’m really grateful for the belief both the Trust and Alistair have instilled in me and this award, I’ve worked hard to build a future for myself and I’m really thankful of these opportunities that the role will provide to help me make the next steps in my professional development.”
Denis Law Legacy Trust is a children’s charity providing free to access programming for young people all across Aberdeen City, based at and supported by Robert Gordon University their positive and impactful work has been recognised by National wards and the communities that they deliver into for making lasting differences.
