hub North Scotland, the driving force behind a range of community-based developments across the region, has been shortlisted for a prestigious business award.

The organisation has been selected as a finalist in the RBS Customer Focus category at the upcoming Scottish Business Awards which will be held at the EICC in Edinburgh on November 12.

The RBS Customer Focus Award recognises businesses that best demonstrate that the customer is at the heart of everything it does, with hub North praised for its community project work across its operational territory in Scotland.

Viewed as the calendar event for the Scottish business community, the Scottish Business Awards will this year welcome Oscar-winning actor, director and humanitarian George Clooney, alongside award-winning comedian and TV talk-show host Rob Brydon and Britain’s greatest every Olympian. Sir Chris Hoy. Last year, 2000 guests from businesses representing over £100billion in turnover attended the prestigious ceremony.

Angus Macfarlane, hub North Scotland chief executive, said: “This award shortlist is testament to the hard work and determination shown on a daily basis by the hub North team and I’d like to thank them for their efforts; we’re delighted to be involved with such a prestigious awards ceremony.

“The communities that our facilities serve very much underpin our activity as an organisation. We want to deliver projects that will be of benefit to those who live within that specific area for years to come and their feedback and opinion, from the initial planning stage right through to handover, is of incredible value to us.

“At hub North Scotland, we set incredibly high standards of which we operate to and this award nomination is recognition of us meeting our goals and aims.”

hub North Scotland is the delivery partner for a number of major projects including the new Alford Community Campus, Wick Community Campus, Brimmond School in Aberdeen and Inverness Royal Academy. The organisation is also delivering the new £55.75million Anderson High School and halls of residence in Shetland, with work now underway after financial close on the project was reached.
