For Scottish employers faced with skills shortages in the domestic labour market, recruiting international talent can be critical to the growth of their business.

The UK immigration system has been radically reformed over the last 12 months. The good news is that the UK now has a very open, streamlined sponsorship process and it is easier and faster than before to sponsor medium and highly skilled workers to work in the UK.

There are also additional new visa categories planned (as part of the trade agreement negotiations with various countries) which should make it easier for employers to tap into those overseas talent pools when filling jobs.
