The Sporting Memories Club is launching soon at Bennachie Leisure Centre in Insch, offering a unique opportunity for older adults to come together, share their favourite sporting memories, enjoy gentle physical activity, and build new friendships in a dementia-friendly environment.

To make this initiative a success, the club is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help deliver its sessions and create a welcoming atmosphere for participants.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteers are at the heart of Sporting Memories Clubs. By giving just a few hours each week, individuals can make a real difference in their community, helping to combat loneliness and support wellbeing. Volunteers also gain new skills, meet like-minded people, and enjoy the satisfaction of contributing to a meaningful cause.

Roles Available

Club Facilitators – lead sessions, encourage conversation, and keep activities engaging.

Support Volunteers – assist with setting up, serving refreshments, and supporting participants during sessions.

No prior experience is required. Full training is provided by Sporting Memories UK, including a 3.5-hour online session, along with all necessary resources and ongoing support.
