Kore Solutions, is providing Christmas dinner next week for 15 people staying at CLAN House on Aberdeen’s Westburn Road over the Christmas period.
CLAN Haven, part of CLAN Cancer Support’s Aberdeen headquarters, CLAN House, is a home from home B&B facility which provides accommodation for anyone affected by cancer who is attending, or accompanying a friend or relative to, Aberdeen hospitals for treatment. Facilities include 27 ensuite bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with dining facilities, as well as a large lounge area.
Generous managing director, Duncan Booth, has gifted a monetary donation to CLAN to enable the local charity to provide a traditional Christmas meal for individuals and families.
Dr Colette Backwell, chief executive of CLAN Cancer Support, says, “We can’t thank Duncan and the Kore Solutions team enough for their kind donation. It will be used to provide a Christmas meal for 15 guests who will be staying with us at CLAN Haven in Aberdeen, on Christmas day.
Colette continues, “CLAN Haven provides a home-from-home for people travelling from rural Aberdeenshire and Moray as well as Orkney and Shetland for treatment in Aberdeen, with many people staying with us for weeks at a time. It is often difficult for people who live some distance away to get home for Christmas and back to Aberdeen for their treatment. This is why CLAN Haven stays open 365 days a year, so that cancer patients, their carers or family can have a home from home while they are away.
“I’m sure everyone can imagine how difficult it can be for people who are staying with us during the Christmas period, away from their local community, family and friends. This kind donation will ensure we can make Christmas Day as special as possible for our clients, with the Haven team providing a really lovely meal and a festive atmosphere for our guests to enjoy with new found friends and family members.”
