Cheryl Henderson, head of business travel at Munro’s Travel, has been elected to the Council of the Scottish Passenger Agents’ Association (SPAA).

Cheryl, who has been with Munro’s for 20 years, will represent both the company and the issues of the wider North-east business travel community within Scotland’s oldest travel trade association.

Cheryl joined Munro’s in 2005 and has played a central role in shaping the company’s operational resilience and client service across the energy, renewables and maritime sectors. Her appointment to the SPAA Council comes at a time when the industry faces continued complexity around global mobility, immigration requirements, sustainability expectations and the evolving needs of the energy workforce.

As one of Scotland’s leading independent TMCs specialising in energy and marine travel since 1973, Munro’s brings a distinct North-east perspective to national conversations about the future of travel. Cheryl’s role on the Council strengthens this representation.

Murray Burnett, managing director of Munro’s Travel, says: “Cheryl’s appointment reflects not only her experience, professionalism and deep understanding of our clients’ needs, but also the importance of ensuring that the voice of the North-east’s business travel community is heard at national level.

"The SPAA plays a vital role in shaping the direction of the industry, and Cheryl’s insight into the energy sector’s unique challenges will be a valuable contribution.”

For Munro’s, the appointment underlines the essential part that business travel continues to play in the operational success of Scotland’s energy sector. Crew rotations, global mobility, duty of care and sustainable travel remain central to the smooth functioning of onshore, offshore and marine projects, and the SPAA provides an important forum for advocating on these issues.

Speaking about her appointment, Cheryl Henderson says: “It’s an honour to join the SPAA Council. Having worked in the energy-focused travel sector for over two decades, I’ve seen first-hand how critical reliable and well-managed travel is to the North-east economy.

"I’m looking forward to contributing to the SPAA’s work — ensuring that the realities facing travellers and businesses in our region are properly understood and helping strengthen collaboration across the Scottish travel industry.”

Cheryl will begin her term immediately and will support the SPAA in areas including policy development, industry engagement and promoting best practice across Scotland’s travel community.
