NCIMB is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Brandon Childers to the post of Senior Scientist.

Brandon has a wealth of experience as a molecular biologist, having previously worked as senior research scientist at 4D Pharma, and a post doctoral researcher at the University of Aberdeen, after gaining a PhD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

He has joined NCIMB as senior scientist working on an Innovate UK-funded project that aims to develop a new class of therapeutics based on the use of living bacteria to prevent or treat disease.

Commenting on the appointment NCIMB’s CEO Dr Edward Green said: “When we moved to our purpose-built new laboratories almost 18 months ago, we envisaged this would serve as a catalyst for more innovative research and development work, and Brandon’s, appointment to work on this project, which is being carried out in collaboration with GitLife Biotech, is a key part of realising this vision."
