NCIMB is delighted to announce the appointment
of Dr Brandon Childers to the post of Senior Scientist.
Brandon has a wealth of
experience as a molecular biologist, having previously worked as senior
research scientist at 4D Pharma, and a post doctoral researcher at the
University of Aberdeen, after gaining a PhD from the University of Texas Health
Science Center at San Antonio.
He has joined NCIMB as senior scientist working
on an Innovate UK-funded project that aims to develop a new class of therapeutics
based on the use of living bacteria to prevent or treat disease.
NCIMB is a long-established Aberdeen-based
biotechnology company providing innovative microbial solutions for life
sciences, food and drink, energy and environmental business.
Commenting on
the appointment NCIMB’s CEO Dr Edward Green said: “When we moved to our
purpose-built new laboratories almost 18 months ago, we envisaged this would
serve as a catalyst for more innovative research and development work, and
Brandon’s, appointment to work on this project, which is being carried out in
collaboration with GitLife Biotech, is a key part of realising this
vision."
