Players from Newtonhill Community Football Club are taking to the pitch with a new set of kit this season, thanks to sponsorship from Aberdeen-based marine consulting and safety specialists AMS Global Group.

The company has sponsored the 2004 age group’s red change kit as well as their black training kit. The team, which trains twice a week at Lochside Academy 3G and GOALS at Inverdee, plays in the Aberdeenshire & District Juvenile Football Association Under 18A League.

Following promotion from the B League as champions last season Newtonhill is currently sitting in sixth position in the A League.

Andrew Smith, coach of Newtonhill said; “We are delighted to receive this sponsorship deal. I would like to thank everyone at AMS Global Group for their fantastic support. It has been tough to keep everyone engaged in grass roots youth football following lockdown. This deal helps us to promote the values and standards that we set at our club by enabling our Under 18 players to be well presented at training sessions and on match days. It gives them a sense of pride to play for our club and be an inspiration for the kids in the younger age groups who look up to them.”

Graeme Reid, a director at AMS Global Group, said: “We’re very pleased to come on board as a sponsor for the Newtonhill team this year. Youth sport has had a challenging time during the pandemic with youngsters missing out the chance to play the game they love. It’s fantastic to see things get back to normal at youth and junior level and as part of our active programme of CSR activities were delighted to support this return.”

This is the second team supported by AMS Global Group. In 2021, the company sponsored the kit for the young players in the Dyce 2015 age group at Dyce Boys Club.
