A North-east charity which supports people with sensory issues is encouraging people to snap up tickets for an evening of entertainment that promises to be ‘out of this world’.
Famous hypnotist Adam Night will play host to a highly funny night of entertainment at the Elgin’s Laichmoray Hotel on Friday, May 6 2016.
All the profits raised from Adam’s hypnotist night will go to North East Sensory Services (NESS).
NESS supports people who were born deaf or blind, or those who have lost all their sight and/or hearing or have developed serious vision and/or hearing problems. Providing information, equipment and support, both practical and emotional, to deaf and blind people, NESS is the first fully integrated joint sensory service in Scotland.
NESS provides a combination of publicly funded statutory joint sensory social work services in Moray and Aberdeen city and ‘added value services’ across Grampian, including a Young Person’s Sensory Service, PEEP - a group for mothers and babies and Connect, Inform, Support, providing activities and assistance to people aged 65 or older.
NESS fundraising assistant Bruce Cruickshank, who lost his sight in 2010 due to having type 1 diabetes, is encouraging individuals or local businesses to buy tickets.
He said: “The show is a great night of entertainment and Adam Night is very popular and funny. It’s a really different night, and something out of the norm.
“But on a more serious note, it is a really important fundraiser for NESS, and we would love it if local businesses and individuals bought tickets to help us raise funds for our services.
“I know first-hand how important it is to have facilities and someone who understands what you aregoing through when you have lost your sight, and we can’t continue to do that without the generosity of our local community. It’s also set to be a great evening.”
Tickets are available from the NESS Moray Resource Centre at Elizabeth House, 10 Victoria St, Elgin (0345 27 12345) and the Laichmoray Hotel in Elgin (01343 540045).
Tickets cost £12.50 and the event starts at 7.45pm, with doors opening at 7pm.
