Private client heavyweight joins Dentons as partner in Scotland

Dentons has appointed partner Roddy Harrison to the Firm's Private Client and Charities team within the UK Tax department. Roddy joins from BTO Solicitors where he headed the private client practice and was a partner for over 15 years. He will be working across all Dentons’ offices in Scotland and the rest of the UK.

Roddy advises private clients, including high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs, on personal and business matters, including capital taxes planning, estate planning, will and power of attorney drafting, family business succession planning, and guardianship applications. He also has considerable experience in trust drafting and administration and provides legal advice to charities on formation and management issues.

Kenneth Shand, Scotland senior partner at Dentons, said, "We are delighted to welcome Roddy to the Firm. His arrival further bolsters our strong private client capabilities across Scotland. With an even larger team in place and with Roddy's exceptional skillset, we will be able to better serve our clients across Scotland and the rest of the UK, as well as those internationally on matters involving UK taxes."

Jeremy Cohen, Dentons' CEO for the UK and Middle East, said, "Roddy is a fantastic addition to Dentons. As well as strengthening our private client offering in Scotland, he is very well placed to support our wider UK Tax practice, which has seen great growth and benefited in the past year from two additional partner hires in London – Alex Tostevin and James Meakin."
