Red Cross retail acquisitions go from strength to strength

FG Burnett are pleased to act for British Red Cross in relation to property matters in Scotland. 2019 was a busy year in relation to retail property acquisitions with new units being secured in Edinburgh, Dunfermline and Prestwick. This takes the number of Red Cross shops in Scotland to 53. The Unit in Edinburgh is at 1 Croall Place on Leith Walk. A high profile corner site which, in terms of fit out looks fabulous. The unit is arranged over ground and basement floors, providing a total of over 3,000 sq.ft.

The Unit at 43 Main Street, Prestwick comprises a fully refurbished unit created from a former bank, subdivided by a local developer. A ground floor only unit of around 1,000 sq.ft.

Red Cross decided to secure additional representation within the suburban retail scheme at Duloch Park, Dunfermline. Another ground floor unit of around 1,000 sq.ft positioned between Greggs and Barrhead Travel.

FG Burnett managing director, Richard Noble, who acted for Red Cross on these acquisitions said “We are fortunate that Red Cross continue to add strategically to the retail portfolio in Scotland, once a site is identified a very robust exercise is undertaken to establish where the current market is with a view to negotiating the best deal possible. We have found in recent years that Landlords have increasingly been attracted to the British Red Cross covenant.”
