For the first time, Robert Gordon’s College will compete at the prestigious World Schools Netball Cup, set to take place in the UK.
The event, held between 27-29 June at the state-of-the-art Loughborough University in Leicestershire, offers pupils a unique opportunity to showcase their talents at an elite level. Hundreds of athletes from all corners of the globe will descend on Loughborough to compete across U13, U15, U17, and U19 age groups, with the ultimate goal of being crowned World Champions of school netball for 2025.
Grace Duddy, head of Netball, commented: “This opportunity aligns with our ongoing efforts to promote netball excellence. Our school has a strong history of supporting the development of young netball players, from playing on the school court to representing their country and pursuing a professional career.
“The squad is training hard as they prepare to compete at a world-class netball venue, eager to challenge themselves against teams from across the globe. We are incredibly proud of their dedication and hard work, and we look forward to supporting them as they showcase their skills on this prestigious stage.

"Additionally, our competitors are very much looking forward to the event in Loughborough and are excited to test themselves against students from a multitude of different countries."
Zara, team captain, said: “We are so excited for this event and can’t wait to compete against all the talented athletes from across the world. We look forward to working together as a team and giving it our all.”
With the inaugural event taking place in 2018, The World School Games Event Series is operated by The Twedex Group and aims to unearth the world champion of school sport through a number of elite sporting competitions. Athletes from across the world compete in the flagship World School Games event in Dubai, UAE, in January, before five other events in swimming (London, UK), netball (Loughborough, UK), golf (East Lothian, UK), football (Barcelona, Spain), and basketball (Valencia, Spain) take place throughout the rest of the year.
Flag-bearers from each team will represent their school in front of a raucous crowd of spectators, families, and media at an opening ceremony as The World Schools Cup officially gets underway. Three days of intense sporting action will follow as each athlete and team battles it out to win The World Schools Netball Cup 2025.
Extensive media coverage before, during, and after the event will shine a spotlight on the incredible talent exhibited, allowing audiences from around the world to engage with the only event of its kind. The closing ceremony will round off an action-packed three days of competition, providing each school the opportunity to come together and celebrate their collective achievements on the world stage.
