UK Health Secretary Wes Streeting has moved to slam the door shut on a second Scottish independence referendum.
Asked during an interview with LBC about the prospect of another IndyRef, Streeting replied: "We're not having one."
It comes as First Minister John Swinney insisted during BBC Scotland's Debate Night special that there could be a second independence referendum as soon as 2028.
But Streeting, The Independent reports, claimed the UK has "had enough chaos" as he remained adamant there would be no second referendum.
He said: "We had an independence referendum not long ago and honestly, let’s just think about what the UK has been through.
"We’ve had the financial crash, we had years of Tory austerity, we had the catastrophe of Brexit, we’ve had the war in Ukraine, the war in Iran, the Covid pandemic. I think this country has had enough of chaos."
