Tidy Green Clean believes that positive change begins with people, extending far beyond its own communities.

The company continues to support Strathallan School’s StrathKenya Projects, funding initiatives that transform lives through education, empowerment, and sustainable development across Kenya.

For over 17 years, the StrathKenya Projects have operated across three key regions: Kibera in Nairobi, Suswa in the Great African Rift Valley, and Kilifi on Kenya’s eastern coast, creating lasting opportunities for children and young people. Through education, skills development, and community-led initiatives, the projects positively impact hundreds of lives each year.

Empowering Communities Through Education

In Kibera, the project supports children’s education by covering school fees, uniforms, books, and daily meals, providing stability and opportunity in a safe learning environment.

At the Kenya Children’s Home Orphanage, StrathKenya delivers both educational and infrastructural support, from classroom funding and nurseries to rainwater harvesting systems and play areas. These initiatives improve wellbeing and create vital pathways to independence.

In Suswa, StrathKenya partners with the Soila Maasai Girls Rescue School to protect and educate girls at risk of early marriage. The project provides essential items such as uniforms, bedding, and school supplies while facilitating teacher development and collaboration in subjects like STEM, building confidence and leadership among young women.

Building Sustainable Futures in Kilifi

In Kilifi, the projects focus on education access for children with physical disabilities and health initiatives benefiting the wider community. StrathKenya also runs large-scale outreach programmes to support girls’ education and address period poverty through the production of reusable sanitary products, a successful micro-business employing local women and reducing environmental waste.

Additional sustainability projects include rainwater harvesting systems, a “rent-a-goat” micro-enterprise supporting women’s income and training, and a Bee-Keeping for Sustainability initiative, empowering local villagers to generate income from honey, candles, and beeswax while promoting biodiversity.

A Partnership Built on Shared Values

By funding the StrathKenya Projects, Tidy Green Clean helps sustain this vital work. The company’s support is driven by a shared belief in education, empowerment, and environmental responsibility, values that align closely with its approach to business and sustainability.

David Moncur, Operations Director at Tidy Green Clean, commented: “The company is honoured to support the StrathKenya Projects. Seeing the difference education and sustainable opportunity can make is incredibly inspiring; it’s a reminder that even small acts of support can create lasting change.”

David Barnes from Strathallan School added: “We have been overwhelmed by the donations from the StrathKenya Community. Every donation is targeted towards micro planning, empowering children and young people, providing education, employment, and positive community opportunities. Sustainability and environmental stewardship are key focuses.”

Building a Better Future, Together

The StrathKenya Projects demonstrate what can happen when compassion meets action. By investing in education, sustainability, and community empowerment, the projects help young people in Kenya build a brighter, more sustainable future, and Tidy Green Clean is proud to contribute to that journey.
