Team Remiges V has proudly announced that it has secured its final REMI (OAR) sponsor, marking a significant milestone in the crew’s preparations for the World’s Toughest Row – Atlantic 2026.
The team’s journey aims to raise awareness and vital funds for three deserving charities — The Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity, MND Scotland, and Mind, Body & Sole UK. This achievement highlights not only the growing support from the local business community but also the collective belief in Team Remiges V’s mission to make a lasting difference.
Community Support and Determination
Since launching their campaign, Team Remiges V has been overwhelmed by the generosity of sponsors and supporters across the region. Each contribution has played an essential role in enabling the team to pursue its ambitious 3,000-mile ocean rowing challenge — an endurance race from La Gomera, Canary Islands, to Antigua.
To celebrate the milestone, the team has released a short video showcasing their confirmed oar sponsors. While they may not be “boarding a rocket to Mars,” the crew joked, they are preparing to embark on the mighty Aegir, determined to row across the Atlantic Ocean in support of their chosen causes.
“We are truly humbled by the support we’ve received from across the community,” said Will Mackie Team Remiges V crew Captain. “Every sponsor plays a part in making this challenge possible — and, more importantly, in helping us make a difference for our charities.”
Oar Sponsors Confirmed
Team Remiges V extended sincere thanks to its confirmed Oar Sponsors for their incredible backing and belief in the project:
Specialist Valve Services | HCS | Shearwater Welfare Fund | Robert Mackie (Funeral Directors) Ltd | Genny Hire Ltd | Zenith Energy Ltd | Jackson Trawls Ltd | Duncan Ross Monumental Sculptor Ltd
“This challenge represents everything we value — teamwork, endurance, and giving back,” said Will Mackie, Team Remiges V crew Captain. “Every stroke we take will help raise funds and awareness for those who need it most. We couldn’t do it without the generosity of our sponsors and supporters.”
About the Challenge
Dubbed the World’s Toughest Row, the Atlantic crossing is an unassisted 3,000-mile endurance race that pushes crews to their physical and mental limits. Teams row continuously for up to 40 days, facing unpredictable weather, exhaustion, and vast stretches of open ocean — with only their own determination and teamwork to carry them forward.
For Team Remiges V, this race is about more than adventure. It’s a mission of purpose — uniting people, raising awareness, and generating vital support for causes that make a real impact.
Continuing the Fundraising Journey
With the Aegir boat set to arrive in April 2026, the team continues to welcome new sponsors and supporters. There are still opportunities for organisations to come on board, including sponsorship packages that allow companies to display their logos on the vessel — a visible commitment to charity, teamwork, and community spirit.
