The Archie Foundation moves from strength to strength
Aberdeen headquartered children’s charity, the Archie Foundation, appointed David Wood as its new chief executive a year ago. Since then, he has led the drive to develop the organisation’s fundraising bases across Aberdeenshire, the Highlands and Tayside. In particular, the charity has made significant contacts in North America, raising awareness of its work back home and attracting the interest of some significant supporters and donors.
The charity currently generates £3.2m per year in income. This fundraising drive and determination to increase its funding has led Archie’s to invest in a new director of fundraising post to lead the charge and strengthen the management team.
As well as the increasingly international dimension to fundraising, this is an opportunity to be involved with iconic projects such as the Oor Wullie Big Bucket Trail, Scotland’s first national art trail.
This critical work in raising funds makes the difference for local sick children when they are in the hospital or require long-term medical treatment. The charity impacts on the lives of nearly 200,000 children every year - and their families across Grampian, Highland and Tayside.
