VisitAberdeenshire staff in the running for prestigious award

VisitAberdeenshire announced that a member of its team of 14, has been shortlisted for a prestigious accolade at the Northern Star Business Awards.

Julia Heys, marketing executive, at VisitAberdeenshire has made the shortlist and is in the running to receive the Rising Star award at the upcoming Northern Star Business Awards, organised by Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce.

Being shortlisted for the award recognises Julia’s work with the local destination management organisation (DMO), VisitAberdeenshire, highlighting her outstanding potential and the major impact she has within the organisation.

Julia Heys, marketing executive, of VisitAberdeenshire said: “Getting this far in the award process is a great achievement. I am thrilled that my dedication and hard work to developing the local economy, and tourism sector, has been recognised on such a scale.”

Julia joined the DMO in August 2014 on completion of her Management with Marketing degree at the Robert Gordon University. She has since been involved in delivering VisitAberdeenshire’s and Aberdeen Festival’s national and international marketing campaigns. Julia was a key component in undertaking the DMO’s 2016 successful rebrand and has recently been involved in helping create a new destination narrative for the region, new website, refreshed photography and video bank as well as delivering the largest ever international tourism advertising campaign for the region.

Julia has been with the company for three years and has made excellent progress and a big impact during her early career. She has been integral to the delivery of our marketing campaigns and is fully deserving of making it to the final for the Rising Star award. The Northern Star Business Awards, which celebrate the achievements of outstanding businesses and individuals from across the North-east, will take place on Thursday October 5.
