The Woollard and Henry Group, the long-established engineering and manufacturing group with deep roots in the North-east of Scotland, and sites throughout Europe, has announced a significant leadership transition.
After more than 23 years steering the group’s operations, Mr Fred Bowden will step back from day-to-day responsibilities, while continuing to serve as chairman.
The company, which has its headquarters in Aberdeen, has appointed Mr Bruce Gill as its new group managing director. Bruce brings with him a strong track record of leadership and decades of experience in the local energy sector, which is a key pillar of Woollard and Henry’s business portfolio.
“Bruce’s leadership credentials and deep industry knowledge make him an ideal fit for the group,” said Fred. “His appointment marks an exciting new chapter for our business, building on a proud legacy while driving innovation and growth across all our markets.”
Bruce will oversee the group’s operations not only in Aberdeen but also its key facilities in Germany and Poland. The group includes the Woollard and Henry brand, alongside PAMA paper machinery GmbH and WH Lipex in Germany, both companies with significant heritage and reputations mirroring that of their Scottish counterpart.
Founded in Aberdeen, Woollard and Henry Ltd. has evolved into a specialist in engineering and manufacturing solutions provider for a range of sectors including energy, aerospace, pulp and paper, basalt and glass fibre. Despite international expansion, the Group remains strongly committed to its local roots.
Commenting on his new role, Bruce said: “I’m honoured to join Woollard and Henry at such a pivotal time. The group’s reputation for engineering excellence and its international footprint present enormous opportunities, and I look forward to working with the team to continue delivering value for our clients across the sectors we serve.”
The leadership handover signals continued stability and ambition for the group, with Fred staying on as chairman to support the strategic direction and ensure a smooth transition.
Woollard and Henry’s headquarters remain in Aberdeen, where it has long been a cornerstone of the local industrial community.
